“What you believe is not the problem.

What you believe I should believe is the problem.”

I once saw a quote on a t-shirt.  “What you believe is not the problem. What you believe I should believe is the problem.” We’re all born into a belief structure based on our family and the community we live in. Most of us don’t question these beliefs enough, using critical thinking, and we continue to blindly defend them. Hence the t-shirt!

It wasn’t until I was doing extensive research into history and gaining cultural insights from traveling globally, that I started to connect the dots concerning these beliefs to discover what was real, what was imaginary, and what was unknowable. Based on what I learned, I created this website and wrote a book, which uses a critical thinking approach to explore the origins of all the major religions.

Dan Friedrich

Although I am not an historian or theologian or world religions professor, I am uniquely qualified in critical thinking to provide a fresh approach to this topic. As a businessperson I became an expert at problem solving by employing many different critical thinking approaches to find the root cause of problems and then solved them with the best solutions. This book follows a similar line of thinking.

I hope you will enjoy what I have written as it offers insights and a broader perspective as to the origins of all the major religions and their similarities, without preaching or proselytizing.  We all have beliefs and opinions about many topics, not just life and death, where we have not done enough (or sometimes any) research regarding these thoughts. It seems odd that we would then argue about or vehemently defend our point of view.

The goal of this website and my book is not to change your beliefs, but rather to make you more aware of where most of our beliefs originated so that you will be more tolerant of others who have beliefs that differ from yours. Having this perspective makes it easier for all of us to share our thoughts in a more relaxed non-confrontational way and it makes us all wiser.

When we become more aware of the origins of our beliefs, we can then use this knowledge to become more tolerant of others and open to new ideas. I believe this will make our world more interesting through diversity of thought and therefore create a kinder and less selfish society.

Please share your interest in this topic on my blog and please share this website and book with others you believe would benefit from it.
